Sudden Cardiac Arrest is the number one killer of Americans today.

More than 465,000 deaths a year result from SCA or sudden cardiac arrest. The deployment of AED's can greatly reduce this number, but we can't do it without your help!

SCA occurs when the heart's electrical impulses suddenly misfire and the hearts' beat becomes chaotic and rapid.  This means rhe heart is unable to pump blood effectively, blood flow to the brain abruptly stops, and the victim quickly loses consciousness.

Foundation of FirstHealth assists with funding for school AED placement.

Powers (chief officer for operation for Moore County Schools) and Boles (executive supervisor for maintenance) have overseen the installation of 31 AEDs in the 22 Moore County schools.
